The first Miss Universe from Pakistan
Erica Robin, a 24-year-old model from Karachi, Pakistan, just became the first Miss Universe Pakistan on September 14, 2023. She’ll be competing for Pakistan in the worldwide Miss Universe contest happening in El Salvador this November.
The event organizers say over 200 people tried to win this spot from all around the world. Erica was the lucky one and is now set to show off Pakistan’s beauty on a global stage.
Erica is a Christian, which is rare in Pakistan. She’s keen on education and lifting women. She wants to use her new title to talk about these important issues and show off the many wonderful sides of Pakistan.
Erica Robin’s Historic Win Boosts Women and Pakistan
After winning, Erica said, “It’s a huge honor to be the first Miss Universe from Pakistan. I want to use this chance to show the world how amazing Pakistan is and speak up for women and education. Every girl should get the chance to live her dreams.”
She also invited people to visit Pakistan and enjoy its delicious food and beautiful scenery. She talked about this on Instagram, mentioning Pakistan’s stunning mountains and landscapes.
Even with this significant milestone, religious leaders in Pakistan and the interim government have stepped back from the event and its participants. They’ve clarified that the government didn’t officially send anyone to represent the nation in the Miss Universe contest.
