Pakistan Commemorates Youm-e-Istehsal, Standing United with Kashmiris

Youm-e-Istehsal,

Pakistanis and Kashmiris all over the world are remembering Youm-e-Istehsal today, August 5. India modified Jammu and Kashmir’s special rights four years ago in 2019. The Indian President Narendra Modi made a significant move here.

Pakistan has been vocal in recent years criticizing India’s actions in Kashmir and how they have harmed the local populace. Many people in Kashmir will choose to stay at home today instead of coming out to protest India’s 2019 decision.

Today, Pakistan’s President Arif Alvi issued a message. According to him, a peaceful resolution to the Kashmiri people’s conflict is necessary for there to be lasting peace in the region. He also discussed India’s 2019 decision, claiming that it violated Kashmiris’ rights to their territory.

Shehbaz Sharif, the prime minister, also offered his opinions. He declared that Pakistan would always stand by the Kashmiris in their struggle for freedom. Additionally, he discussed the violence India has been using against Kashmiris since 2019 and how India is attempting to alter who resides in the area. This, in his opinion, denies Kashmiris the freedom to determine their future.

Both leaders agree that the best approach to resolve the Kashmir issue is through a fair election, as recommended by the United Nations.
