Huawei has spent years developing driver assistance and entertainment technologies; with this partnership, the company can finally launch its own car brand.

IT Home stated that the partnership would result in the introduction of a new Huawei brand. Previously used showrooms by the Chinese tech giant will now exclusively sell the new brand.

Once again, Huawei DriveONE will be responsible for developing the underlying technology, while BAIC will handle the vehicles’ mechanical components. The Jihu platform is said to serve as the basis for the vehicle. The Wenge and Jihu automobiles share the same chassis.

The jointly developed vehicles will also incorporate the Huawei Inside the platform, which is used by some Chinese automakers. Huawei Inside is powered by HarmonyOS and enables the convergence of connected automobiles, mobile devices, and residential environments.

Given its 2024 release date, it’s safe to assume that advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and cutting-edge technology will be standard.

From what we can tell, Huawei has no plans to ever produce a motor vehicle. But it’s likely to sell them and make a profit off of the growing demand for smart electric vehicles.

The company hopes to sell cars and phones together by leveraging its existing distribution network and HarmonyOS. Avatar 11 will be available for purchase in the company’s most illustrious smartphone retail locations.
