Honda unveiled its NP1 electric crossover SUV at the Thailand International Motor Expo. The e-NP1 is essentially an electric rebranding of the Honda HR-V.

To cater to the expanding demand for electric vehicles, Honda has announced the launch of a new sub-brand called e: N.

For starters, “the first two letters, “e” and “e” N,” stand for the words “energized” and “electric,” and the third letter, “N,” stands for the words “new” and “next” (evolution). Overall, N wants to make “a pure electric vehicle with Honda-specific features for the new era.”

Honda offers the e: NP1, a subcompact crossover SUV, in China. Competing models include the Tesla Model Y, Volkswagen ID 4, Kia EV6, Hyundai IONIQ 5, and Toyota bZ4X. There are two different motor options for it.

Standard powertrain specs include 180 hp, 310 Nm of torque, a 53.6 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, and a 420-kilometer driving range. In addition to its 68.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and 510-kilometer range, the high-tech powertrain generates 201 horsepower and comparable torque.
